Everyone has their own source of motivation and their own ways of dealing with things. Some consider themselves emotional, some consider themselves logical. I tend to alternate between the two. Sometimes i let my feelings govern my actions, sometimes i use logic to handle a problem.
As i thought about the two approaches (emotional and logical), a third factor came to mind. Its the spiritual factor. How about letting the Holy Spirit guide me in my thoughts and action? What would it be like to be a ’spiritual person’?
There are pros and cons to being emotional or logical. But how about being spiritual? I think we can’t trust in our emotions or logical thinking, because both originate from ourselves. We don’t know and can’t control the outcomes of our actions. Only that which originates from God, i.e. the Holy Spirit living within me, knows precisely and is control of the future.
Thus, i concluded that letting the Spirit govern my every thought and actions is best. For God not only knows what is best for me, He also wants the bestfor me. Thus, when i’m living according to His divine will, i can rest in peace knowing that I am doing the best thing i can for myself! I no longer have to worry about the future, for i know He holds my hand.
Certainly, being a ’spiritual person’ does not come naturally to us humans. It takes constant effort. But its a challenge worth fighting for because the rewards are peace and joy and most importantly the company of God!
