I am very disturbed by the state of the world we live in. Look around you, what are the things that are happening in the lives of those around you, or even in your own life?
The Lord created us in His image. That means we were created to be holy like Him, without sin, without blame. His purpose for creating us was for us to walk with Him. That was what Adam (the first human) did. He simply took long walks in a beautiful garden with God.
And look at what humans nowadays are doing: Prostitution, pornography, sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, violence, murder, addiction to drugs, alcohol, sex, even coffee and chocolate…
Look at what humans are living for. Some live for power, for money, for fame, for happiness, for health etc. In sum, these people are living to satisfy their own selfish desires. They are living for themselves.
I cannot help but gloat at the extent to which we have degraded from our initial purpose of existence. God did not create us to experience all the hurts and problems we are facing, He did not intend for us to experience abortions, divorce, abuse, poor health etc.. He made us so that we could live an abundant life, walking with Him. Its that simple, its that pure, its that joyful.
It intrigues me why, if walking with God is so pleasurable as compared to the problematic life many are living today, do people still choose to live that life? I think the answer may lie with the fact that these people are deceived. Satan and his army of fallen angels are masters at deception. That’s how they get so many people to fall into sin. We are deceived into thinking, for example, extra-marital affairs are more satisfying than sex in marriage. We are blinded to the fact that sex, out of love, inside the security of a marital covenant, is far more pleasing. We are blinded to the negative consequences of extra-marital sex, like unwanted pregnancies and sexually-transmitted diseases.
As a sinner myself, I am deeply saddened by the how far we have drifted away from the God-intended life. I cannot imagine how sad God must be to see how His creation has wandered so far away from the abundant life He created us to live.
I cannot strive to live a holy life while ignoring or avoiding the darkness of this world. I cannot turn a blind-eye to the sufferings of people out there who do not know they are being deceived. I urge my brothers and sisters out there who know the truth to share it with those in darkness. I pray for the Holy Spirit to give us the courage, wisdom or whatever we need to be effective in sharing the truth. Please pray with me.
